Have you ever stood in a situation in a RP wondering what to do as a D.O.T or Police or EMS? Well here’s just a general basic guide on what to do for some of those listed.
DOT (Department of Transportation)
As you’ve seen for the picture that I have my custom GALO.Co trucks with the scenario that I am towing a vehicle. Here just a few tips on what to do, how to do it, and suggested vehicles. (Do not use mine because I haven’t uploaded it nor is it that great yet)
#1 When you get a call make sure your lights are on and you still follow traffic laws. Be quick when it comes to looking for the location (on the map).
#2 Make sure the job is do-able and you have the right vehicle. Unless your the only one on the team I highly suggest just using a tow truck for most situations.
#3 DOT also includes truckers, but I’ll make a separate guide for that.
#4 This is a RP people, meaning that you need to use the radio and not regular chat. Simply type [R] before your text. It’s not that hard and it saves a lot of time and makes less confusion.
#5 Follow traffic laws. Unless there is no specification by the host if there are traffic laws (which there really should be since it’s a rp) just plow through people.
Police
Probably the hardest job in RP that people play as that is also the most famously asked for. Please, if you are on the of the people that just turns on the sirens and lights read this. I’ll also put a mention of another guide in the end.
#1 Use your codes people. If you really want to be pro, search it up. If you want the basic codes look at the link/guide at the end.
#2 Don’t just randomly shoot people. That really just shows your a terrible player or might even result in you being kicked.
#3 Light signals. Unless you are using a basic police vehicle, your police car should have at least a minimum of 2 light signals and both are very easy to understand just by looking.
#4 Call for backup. Do not try to single-handedly defeat a shooter or robbery. This just results mainly in the criminal getting away or you ending up dead because you did something dumb. No one wants to look at your gravestone if your death was because you tried to be a hero.
#5 Speakerphone/microphone/megaphone, same thing as in speaking amplifying voice and it has “phone” at the end. But, anyways if you want to keep it serious or your on a strict server use megaphone symbols or something.
#6 Search things up. It’s not hard nor difficult to search and understand some police force basics.
#7 This is never really a thing seeing as dogs aren’t really existent in Brick Rigs besides that one workshop build. But if you do however act as a K9 Handler, just rp the dog and stuff. It’s really simple to say ” *The dog sniffs for any illegal drugs or bombs* “
EMS or Firefighter
Either though these are somewhat in the same category. It is important to play the role of either an EMS or Firefighter seeing as both are equipped for different scenarios.
#1 BE QUICK, SOMEONES BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS IF YOU DON’T RESPOND. YOU DON’T WANT TO BE THE REASON SOMEONE DIES!
#2 DON’T BE THE REASON A CAR BURNS DOWN A BUILDING BECAUSE YOU DIDN’T TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON AND GOT STUCK IN TRAFFIC
#3 DON’T BE THE REASON SOMEONE IS RUN OVER WHEN YOU DRIVE. MAKE SURE YOU DON’T HIT ANYTHING OR ANYONE
#4 GET THE VEHICLE FOR THE RIGHT JOB
#5 SEARCH IT UP IF YOU STILL NEED MORE INFO
Thank you.
Dispatcher
This is like the last role I’m going to mention because it also plays an important role and many people don’t notice or acknowledge that fact. These people need more recognition.
#1 You are responsible for taking calls and realizing which vehicle/service to use in that situation.
#2 You are in control of figuring out location from the call.
#3 You are responsible for figuring what the best route is for emergency vehicles is to take. (Either though the roads make like a windowed square so)
The end
“How to be a good police officer” is the guide that will teach you the basic codes and some more ideas on what to do.
